- Use only biodegradable sunscreen, or better still a lycra rash guard; most places ask for a shower before you enter the water.
- Arrive early: first thing in the morning there are fewer people, the light is prettier and you avoid the heat and the tour buses.
- Bring cash in pesos, since many entrance fees and parking lots do not accept cards.
- Add water shoes, a towel and a dry bag for your phone; the stone floor tends to be slippery.
